APPLIED MATHEMATICS SYMPOSIUM

SOCAMS (Southern California Applied Mathematics Symposium) is a conference that aims to bring together researchers from universities throughout Southern California, working in all areas of applied mathematics, for a one-day exchange of ideas in an informal and collaborative atmosphere. It is intended that the symposium showcases research work by young faculty, post-docs, and graduate students as well as inspirational talks from selected faculty members.

SoCAMS 2023 was a huge success, with 5 amazing plenary speakers, over 40 contributed talks, and over 25 posters. Please check out the Photos page for some shots from the day.

SOCAMS 2023 will be held at University of California, Irvine in Irvine, CA.  The event will be held in the Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Building (ISEB).  

The event is free (including lunch and refreshments) for participants. Registration is required for all attendees.

Important Dates

March 17, 2023:   Deadline for talk and poster abstracts submissions

15-minute contributed talks will be selected by the scientific committee from those that opt-in.  Otherwise, participants are welcome to present a poster.

March 24, 2023:      Notification of abstract acceptance.

April 7, 2023:         Deadline for non-presenter registration.
